Toby Wong is a Board Director, global business executive and consumer marketer with P&L experience over 25 years in Fortune 100, sports and new businesses. As a dual U.S. and Canadian citizen who has lived abroad (Asia, Europe, North America), Toby is a catalyst with an innovation and growth track record, launching brands and business in highly competitive consumer industries. She is open to Corporate Advisor and Board Director roles that capitalize on strengths in new revenue streams, innovation, brand strategy, global marketing, communications, crisis management and sports.
Toby is Principal of Toby Wong Consulting where she delivers marketing and communications for clients (sports, technology, apparel, beverage). As a late-deafened board director, Toby is deeply committed to continuous education, including adding crisis communications and accessibility certifications as well as corporate director education and reputation training to her business education (Harvard, Northwestern, Queen’s).

Toby’s current and recent board work includes serving as a non-executive independent director on the Board, Nominating & Governance Committee and Entertainment Advisory Board for Disability Belongs — a national organization fostering accessible and inclusive spaces for people with disabilities; Advisor for the Collective Visibility global women’s sports platform (70 countries, 57 languages); and Advisor on the U.S. Census Bureau’s National Advisory Committee that advises on federal census policies, agency communications and operations. Toby also serves on the Forbes Communications Council, authoring articles and sharing expert insights in Forbes. Building next-gen innovation, Toby served as Business Mentor for Remarkable’s global tech start-up accelerator and Judge for the Ignition Innovation Competition for global sports tech.
Toby’s global experience includes progressive revenue and marketing executive roles at Team USA, Axient Communications, Nike and Coca-Cola. Highlights include co-launching Coca-Cola USA’s sports marketing group and leading strategy, contracts and activation (NHL, NBA, etc.); serving as Nike’s first Global Women’s Brand Director; launching Nike’s Inner Actives performance apparel business with its historic USWNT Brandi Chastain global sports bra debut at Women’s World Cup; and launching Octane media experience via the U.S. debut of full-screen streaming Olympic media content.
As Team USA’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Toby served as primary revenue creator, including unprecedented Year 1 revenue for Olympic, Paralympic and Pan American Games. Toby’s sphere of impact covered Team USA’s broad ecosystem of 125+ marketing team; athletes; partners (NBC Sports, sponsors, suppliers); and governance (Board of Directors, 40+ National Governing Bodies, IOC, 190+ National Olympic Committees (NOCs)). Toby broke a 108-year-old barrier as its highest‐ranking female staff executive (non-volunteer), first female, Asian and Canadian CMO at the world’s largest NOC.
