Ranjeet Wallia, B.A.

Ranjeet Wallia was born in Bombay, India. Since migrating to Canada in 1979, he has enjoyed a successful career in the global nut industry, initially working as a futures trader for Gibbs Nathaniel Canada Ltd., exporting peanuts from the United States to Europe. In 1983, he opened the London, UK subsidiary for Canadian company Gibnat Ltd., and traded in edible nuts and dried fruit to the European markets.
Currently, Ranjeet is President, CEO and a major shareholder of Commodities Handlers Inc., an $80M company that imports and trades in physical futures of edible nuts and dried fruit to the United States and Canada from Vietnam, India, Turkey and Brazil. Notably, the company is one of the top ten importers of cashews from Vietnam to the North American markets. Additionally, CHI Commodities
Handlers exports California almonds to India, China and Turkey, and supplies world-leading nut roasters, salters and confectionary manufacturers with cashews and almonds.
Ranjeet has served his community via eight years on the Board of the Markham Stouffville Hospital. He has a Syme’s amputation of his right leg below the knee and remains fully mobile and physically active.
